I have students that remained. I have had long term students who moved on. <br /><br />On the other hand most of the adult black belts who stayed more than a year after reaching dan stayed on an average of 18 years. In the case of the youth who graduated school and had reached shodan, 100% of them moved on. Of course in each case that was the right decision for them.<br /><br />But the experience they gained always remained.<br /><br />My own son was no different.
