Shimabuku Shinso in 1972 when he was sharing with Charles Murray

 

In 1972 while serving in the USAF in Okinawa, Charles Murray had the chance to train in Agena  with Shimabuku Tatsuo.  He was a new sho-dan under Tom Lewis.  He was serving in the USAF and was stationed on Okinawa. He was able to train in Agena when his time permitted for about one year.

When training there Shimabuku Shinso chose to share training in Chinkuchi with Charles.
