There was a day when we were all younger.
This was such a day, and this is Young Lee,
With the Grin.
(of course this was how I named the technique)
Here are the screen captures of the move.
I am pretty sure this was 1989.
The next year we were at a summer camp.
He and Andy Young showed them how to do it running up a tree and kicking.
Of course everyone (young) had to try it, and fall every time.
It does take a hard man to make a tender chicken after all.
The interesting thing is long after that I read something similar in Itoman Seijin (Morinobu’s) book Toudi-jutsu no Kenkyu
ReplyDeleteIn there he describes a technique called “ Triangle Flying - This technique involves jumping or leaping to three points. That is, you use the footing from a wall, tree stump or the ground to deliver a kick, move to an advantageous position, or move to safe distance using three points. “
So perhaps Young just discovered an older technique.
