I just read Victor Donald Smith's Isshin Ryu Blog. It was perhaps one of the most considered works I have ever read with regard to martial arts training and teaching.
It was touching, thoughtful, and although it was detailing Smith-Sensei's stepping out of active teaching, it was written with an amazing confidence that was pure, uncut understanding.
Smith-Sensei is self deprecating, but has created a legacy found in students and teachers with good hearts, and who cast earnestly about their search on the path of Budo.
We will not miss you, Smith-Sensei, for you will always remain an inspiration to us.
Thank you for what you have done, and will do for a long time to come. In Budo,
