Currently showing on Tubi, I believe the movie “The Ramen Girl” comes closest to what I believe was taught for old time Okinawan karate. The movie is not about karate. It is about a young woman’s journey to become a traditional Ramen Chief.
Her
journey is compounded by her life being a mess, and of course she does not
really understand Japanese. There are many ways to interpret the movie, however
to me it touches the essence of the old journey to understand what true karate
should be.
