An unusual weapon

The Tozan-ryu school has many weapons unusual in Okinawa.

 

Among them is the metal baton: tetsujô, literally the iron cane, about 40 cm long and equipped with a guard.

 

Used to defend themselves, and especially to defend the nobles of Shuri Castle, this weapon was a highly used object by the palace guards.
