Almost all today know of the incident of Daniel Perry who was brought up on charges because he restrained an attacker on the subway who was beginning to attack others. The attacker later died and the local DA sought to convict him of murder.
While it is good that he was found innocent the case carries a burden on those who teach self defense. Not that self defense is not reasonable, just in many locations across out nation that act is enough to be charged for defending yourself.
Teaching someone to defend themselves apparently is not enough.
Not to mention he is still facing possible civil charges from the dead perpetrators family, yet another legal battle.
The world is a far different place from the time Toudi (Te) was developed in Okinawa.
