01. THE SNAKE RETREATS
DA LU - TAI CHI CHAUN
EXTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
1.A LFF both hands circling up clockwise when touching the attackers limb the right hand continues to circle around the limb until it is under that limb.
RFB and pull the opponent downward to the side with the arm lock.
1.B As above except when the hands circle up the left hand strikes out with the finger tips (SNAKE BITE) to the eyes as the right hand continues to circle around the attacker limb.
1.C As in 1.a. or 1.b. except when the Right Foot pulls back instead of going 180 degrees it shift 270 degrees.
INTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
1.D. - LFF both hands circle up clockwise to attacker's head and the right hand continues to rotate clockwise 180 degrees around the head.
RFB and pull the opponent downward to the side with the head lock.
1.E. - As in 1.d. with the turn from 1.c.
INTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE AGAINST SHORT RANGE STRIKES.
1.F. - Shift counter-clockwise (possible right elbow throw) and block down with the right arm which then continues to rotate clockwise. All of the options 1.a. through 1.c. are then possible from this position.
KICKS AND GRABS
The above combinations will work against any limb.
02 THE EAGLE SWOOPS DOWN
SAIFA KATA - BUSHI NO TE ISSHINRYU
EXTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
2.A. - RFF then left foot steps out and turns 90 degrees clockwise. Both hand circle up and then out then down as you finish your rotation. Striking the opponents spine ajnd stomach at the same level simultaneously.
2.B. - As in 2.a. except that you strike the back and the front of your opponents neck.
INTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
2.C. - LFF and both hands circle up/out/then down striking both sides of the opponents neck simultaneously.
2.D. - LFF (hidden knee strike) Right foot steps out and turns 90 degrees counter-clockwise while both hands circle u and then down as you finish your rotation. The hands may strike the neck or spine/stomach simultaneously.
03 THE GHOST DEPARTS

EXTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
3.A. - LFF - Right foot steps back 180 degrees as you turn facing the same direction the attack is moving. LFB - RFB...The turn needs much hip rotation to execute with speed.
There is the pontetial for a hidden shoulder stroke in this technique.
3.B. - LFB - Right foot steps in between your left foot and the attacker, then turn counter-clockwise and step back with the left foot.
There is an implied sweep to the attackers rear leg with the last stepping motion.
INTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
3.C. - RFF --(hidden fight snoulder stroke) - Left foot steps back 180 degrees as yuo turn facing the same firection as the attack is moving. RFB (with a hidden reap) --- LFB
04 THE BEAR
BRUSH KNEE - PUSH - TAI CHI CHAUN
4.A. THE BEAR CLEANS ITS CLAWS
THE BEAR WIPES ITS CLAWS - TAI CHI CHAUN
INTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
4.a. - LFF left ascending arm parry - RFF right vibrating palm to the opponents nose.
4.B. THE BEAR WIPES ITS NOSE
FAIR LADY WORKS SHUTTLES -TAI CHI CHAUN
INTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
4.b. - LFF left ascending arm parry - RFF right vibrating palm to the opponents nose.
DOUBLE ATTACKERS
4.c.- LFF left ascending arm parry againsst a lunge punch. Turn 45 degrees RFF right ascending palm strike slamming 2nd opponent down. Then RFB followed by LFB while applying the SNAKE RETREATS.
05 THE WHIRLWIND
SANCHIN KATA - BUSHI NO TE ISSHINRYU
EXTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
05.a. - LFF left inner cutting block followed with a right outer cutting block and left hand circles counter-clockwise for another inner cutting block.
Multiple striking, grabbing and throwing combinations available.
INTERIOR LINE OF DEFENSE
05.b.- RFF right inner cutting block followed by left outer cutting block and right hand circles clockwise for another inner cutting block.
Multiple striking, grabbing and throwing combinations available.
06 TORNADO

06.a. Turn to the rear and drop to the right knee
Execute a left back kick while on one knee
Roll to the right while scissoring legs
Execute a left side kick
Roll right on left knee and execute a right back kick.
