In my Facebook account a translation I posted a year ago just showed
up. I found that translation, while difficult to understand, interesting.
Viewing the video on the Motobu Ryu website with that article. I realized I had
to slow down the very rapid action to understand what was being shown. So I
made these screenprints to view what was happening more clearly.
That translation was difficult to read so I then again used Bing to
translate the text, and the translation is more that a bit clearer. Interesting
how at a later date the translation becomes clearer, apparently the Bing
translation tool is being updated.
To clarify I believe Headquaters or Head Office refers to Motobu
Udundi, where in contrast Head Office
Kempo refers to a type of karate.
I am not a professional Japanese translator, This is a translation I
have obtained with the use of the Bing Translator. Such tools are often flawed
regarding martial terminology, but personally I would rather use them gaining
whatever understanding presents itself.
We
uploaded an article of "How to
thrust in Motobu Udundi".

How to push the headquarters gotente 2017-12-28
In
an article the other day, I wrote that the way of the head office Gotente and
the head office Kenpo is different. So how is it different specifically? Basically, in the headquarters gotente, the thrust is poked
with the front hand. It is a so-called "forward-hand thrust". However, the front hand thrust is
also used in the headquarters Kenpo. A
more pronounced difference from the headquarters Kenpo is that "jumping
thrust" is the basis in the headquarters gotente.
As
shown in the video above, the
headquarters gotente puts the run from a little distance, puts the weight, and
pokes. Power is speed x mass, so of course the power increases as much as you
put the weight.
I'd
like you to compare this with the way you stick with your old promised set-up
with your right foot step from the front bend with your left hand in the lower
part of your right hand.
Husband and wife hands, front hand thrust, jumping, etc. The
elements that make up the thrust are different. It is not a way of pushing the
old current because it is a physical education way which was popular mainly
through "School Karate" as above. At the school Karate, he said,
"With the order, he takes a step forward and pokes his right leg with his
right hand. You take it with your left hand at the same time as you take your
right foot back one step at the same time. It is a fusion of Karate and
military training (military gymnastics).
Another feature of the
headquarters Gotente is that it uses various hand butts and three thrusts
(various hand butts + forefoot kicks) a lot. About the three butts were
introduced in the blog of Tamonkan the other day.
There
is no reception in the headquarters gotente. It is a thought that "Attack is the
greatest defense". Somewhere, it is reminiscent of the idea of
"do not doubt one sword" or "no need for
two swords" of the visionary stream. So make sure to decide on the attack with the first blow.
Therefore, not
only the hands, the hands, but also the feet than one hand. It increases the number of hands in the condition.
Such
an idea is incompatible with the competition karate of the point system. It is
a way of fighting of the tee as a martial art to the last. I think that the way
of thrusting the headquarters gotente is the way of belonging to the older
layer even in shuri hand which was influenced by the present current flow.
Although
the front hand thrust is used in the headquarters Kenpo, the gap is closer, and
the influence of the hanging test (the game by the handle) starts from the
position where each other's forearms touched is strong. It is various in the
way of the thrust of the old current like this. Never say, "This is how to
push the old current!" It is not a uniform way of pushing, such as
The
article ended there.
