Another video of John Kerker from 1998 at his clinic in Chicopee Ma.

Here is another video I took of John Kerker at the clinic in Chicopee, Ma. back in 1998.

I took these videos on a hand held video camera as well as making notes about what I obeseved that day. I did not film everything I saw, my notes have much, much more from that day. That camera did not take sound.

Below is one of those videos and my accompanying notes, to give you an idea of what I kept track of. Of course any errors are my own fault.

Video P9130002 - This video is John demonstrating how a low block flows into an arm lock for one to attacks you.

Primary answer  Right low forearm strike to the inside of their strike. Then when their right punches strike across inside their biceps with your right open hand, the web between the thumb and the other fingers used to strike into the inside of their elbow. Then continue with the spear hand strike to press their punching hand down as the right hand pulls their elbow forward into the chicken wing lock

Then what was not captured on the video

2.
Attacker RFF Right Punch (from the front)

Left side block with following left backfist strike to face

Attacker LFF Left Punch (from the front)

Right hammerfist strikes their forearm followed with right strike to face

Attacker RFF Right Punch (from the front)

Right strike to their inner fist knuckles continuing to a right strike to their face as the left hand comes up to trap their arm between your arm and body

Attacker LFF Left Punch (roughly from the right side) to be followed by a Right punch

Example how a double right-left open hand strike lightly on top of the first strike, followed by a right lower forearm strike against their 2nd strike created the opening for the right chest strike.

Principle, the strike across to the arm can hit anywhere from the wrist to the shoulder or into the upper body. In any case that strike (which can drop their arm itself) creates the void into which the spear hand rolling lock fits.

3.

Yet another variation was how Harrill Sensei would use a thumb strike into the biceps to separate the muscle, the thumb tip protruding across the fist and the wrist angled in for the strike.

Examples of how that strike into the side biceps drops the attacker.

Example of how you can just strike out into the upper chest to stop the attack. Two objects moving towards each other become a force multiplier.
