Jim Keenan
received his Black Belt from Krav Maga founder Imi Lichtenfeld in Israel during
the 1980's. Jim was the first non-Jewish, non-Israeli to be awarded a Krav Maga
Black Belt and to receive permission by Imi to teach Krav Maga. Jim Keenan was
the first person who had master credentials from various other Martial Arts to
give full recognition and respect to Krav Maga.
With Imi's blessing, Jim introduced important elements into the canon of Krav Maga which have been adopted world-wide, including zombie games, intensity drills, and structural power multiplication. He was a charter member, along with Imi Lichtenfeld, of the board of directors of the Conflict Management Institute in Israel and developed the CMI course techniques that were later incorporated into global Krav Maga teaching
