In
Tomita Tsuneo's classic udo novel "Sugata Sanshiro," we see the following
scene. The younger of the Higaki brothers, Tesshin, plans to go after Sanshiro.
His elder brother Higaki Gennosuke, tells him that "even the punches and kicks of Higaki Karate won't be
enough to defeat Sanshiro." Tesshin then replies, "in that case, I'll use Nukite (finger-tips) and Enpi (elbow)."
