When Mike and I attended a kobudo seminar with
Kise Sensei over on the coast.
He told us on Okinawa the police were requesting
dojo not to teach them.
They were having a gang problem, and as many kids
took them to school, as the went to work in the fields after class was over…
well you can guess the rest.
I think on that often when I see modern karate
programs
That teach kama to kids.
A cute weapon for the parents to see.
And with fake blades to prevent injury.
Easier for the kids than most weapons.
After all who does not want to teach their kids to
slice apart others.
One of the many reasons I never went into kobudo for
kids.
